Anonymous Fan Art of Illidan overlooking Black Temple

After experiencing the epic new level 90 raids, it was time to relax and enjoy a transmogrification run of the level 70 WoW raid Black Temple.  One of my favorite parts about being able to level alot of new characters with Recruit a Friend is getting to finally use the class specific set pieces for transmog.  I’m especially craving the earthy, natural druid transmogs, the wicked, dark, and skull encrusted warlock transmogs, and of course, the shaman transmogs, which often display the elements of nature, such as fire, water and earth.

Black Temple contains the final encounter with the Lord of Outland, Illidan Stormrage, a Demon Hunter Night Elf who is the greatest character of the Burning Crusade expansion of WoW.  He is the twin brother of the Night Elf faction leader Malfurion Stormrage.  When they were growing up, the two brothers were both in love with Tyrande Whisperwind, who is now the High Priestess of the Night Elves, and over the years, Illidan keeps using misguided efforts to help her, though she loves Malfurion.  He is a tragic figure, as well as a symbol of great evil.  He tries to give the Nigh Elves back their immortality by creating a new Well of Eternity at Hyjal, but is imprisoned for this act for 10,000 years.  He is released to battle the Lich King, and when he fails, is forced to flee to Outland, because the Night Elves want nothing to do with him  (http://www.wowwiki.com/Illidan_Stormrage).

Illidan wields the legendary quality weapons called the Warglaives of Azzinoth, which cannot be transmogrified, but are displayed as a mark of status by players who obtain them.  They can be dual wielded by death knights, rogues, and warriors.  Seventy twinks, however, can use them, as they are the most powerful level 70 swords in-game.

Sadly, neither of the gliaves dropped for Zak.  However, my shaman obtained set pieces for both the Tier 6 Shaman PvE set, Skyshatter Harness, and the level 70 Merciless Gladiator’s PvP set.
